I was diagnosed with MS in 2013. I have been lucky enough to have been put on disease modifying drugs that are helping slow the progress of my disease. I am so grateful for all of the support I have received and for all of the research that has gone into treating and understanding this condition. I do not know where I would be without this medication. I have had so much support from Guernsey and have also been able to look up information and get advice from the MS Society.

I ran quite a bit, now I run quite a lot! When I was diagnosed with MS I thought my life as a I knew it was over and I did not know if I would be able to continue running. I have been lucky enough to be able to continue running and have completed 3 marathons. I usually just run for myself. I’ve had people ask me before if I am running for charity and the answer was always no. I’ve always been afraid of letting people down and not completing the race or having the pressure of raising a fixed amount. This time I signed up and then when asked if I wanted to raise money I thought why not. There’s no real target to reach as I have paid for my entry it’s not a charity place. I feel it’s time I gave something back after benefiting so much from others. When it gets tough running the 26.2 miles or when training in gale force winds and lashing rain I will have a word with myself as I always do and the words that I say are “whilst you can run just run” hopefully this will get me through it!

So please do not feel obliged in any way as I know there are a lot of amazing charities and there is always someone asking for money for one thing or another… but if you would like to donate then I d be very grateful.
