Story
This October we are walking the world to raise money and awareness about #Endometriosis, a debilitating condition affecting #1in7 women making it as common as asthma or diabetes. Endo is a debilitating painful condition with NO CURE.
It is estimated to cost the Australian economy $9.4 Billion a year and the individual about $30,000. The dollar signs are just one sliver of the daily havoc and exhaustion that constant pelvic pain has on a persons life.
I am one of these women! I was diagnosed with Stage 4 earlier in the year after having multiple cyst ruptures and investigative surgery. Since then I have endured monthly hormonal treatments, debilitating pain, a continuing revolve of pain medications, injections, specialist appointments, scans, blood tests, grief stricken nights and utter exhaustion. This is the daily life of someone with endometriosis.
As a collective we are going to walk the 40, 075 km needed to walk around the world.
We are walking to spread the message that PERIOD PAIN AND BLOATING THAT INTERFERES WITH YOUR LIFE ISN'T NORMAL and needs medical attention.
We need your help! By spreading awareness of Endometriosis and raising funds for research, we can give HOPE to the 800,000 Australians such as myself fighting this chronic illness EVERYDAY; Hope for a breakthrough, hope for a future without pain! Please give whatever you can, every little bit helps!
