Story
On the 17th July 2024 I will climb Triglav the highest mountain in Slovenia to raise funds for the Architects Benevolent Society. This coincides with the conclusion of my term as the President of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland which began in July 2022 with a climb of Mount Olympus, when we raised over £2000 for the Architects Benevolent Society.
Ahead of our climb I will visit the Partisan Necropolis in Bosnia, to raise awareness of the plight of this fabulous national monument and support the documentary currently underway by the BAFTA award winning film maker Chris Leslie. Built and designed by renowned architect Bogdan Bogdanovic between 1959 and 1965, the Partisan Memorial Cemetery in Mostar, is dedicated to those who died fighting as Yugoslav Partisans against Nazi Germany in WWII. I will visit the Partisan Necropolis on my journey through the Balkans to meet up with the Highland Walking Society who are leading the climb of Triglav.
All money gifted to our Just Giving Page will all be donated to the Architects Benevolent Society which I will match and contribute to Chris Leslie's documentary.
