Story
PSPA is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD).
Providing information and support for people affected by PSP & CBD whilst funding research into the causes, treatment, and eventually a cure.
Sometime in 2018/2019, after being initially misdiagnosed with Parkinson's Disease (another similar and awful condition) my Mom was diagnosed with PSP.
Since this diagnosis she has progressively deteriorated like those who suffer this disease do. Losing the ability to walk, sometimes unable to see, not being able to talk and now struggling to eat by mouth....but remaining surprisingly upbeat (most of the time).
PSP for those surrounded by it is awful as you watch those you love slowly change and care responsibilities grow and that is why I have decided to channel a passion of mine (running) into a way to raise money for a charity that funds vital research and treatment for what is a rare and largely unknown condition.

The challenge
I will be attempting to run the elevation of the 10 tallest mountains in the world by the time I turn 40 years old (2 years & 2 months) which is a total of 274,842.52ft (83,772m)
To do this I will need to run:
334ft (per day)
2338ft (per week)
The equivalent of running up Ben Nevis 62 times in a year or Mount Kilimanjaro 14 times or Mount Everest nearly 10 times.
Whilst doing this I will need to plan carefully as I spend chunks of time each year in Cambridge, England which is flat as a pancake so no doubt will need to accumulate elevation in the bank. I will also do some mini challenges within the main challenge and enter some races to have FUN along the way.
My aim: Raise money, Raise awareness. Simple.
Thanks for reading.
