Story
Hello everyone!
This January I'm taking on the Montane Winter Spine Race MRT Challenger North.
After successfully completing the summer race I'm back to take on the same route in the winter! 160 miles along the Pennine Way from Hardraw in North Yorkshire and aiming to get to Kirk Yetholm over the Scottish Border within 108 hours.
I'm excited but nervous, last year competitors saw some pretty cold conditions! It's going to be a totally different challenge compared to summer, with much longer hours walking in darkness.
All the money I'm raising is going to NNPMRT who I volunteer for.
Most people aren't aware that MRTs solely rely on public donations to function. NNPMRT are there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide life-saving, emergency search and rescue. They attend a variety of incidents including in mountain/hill, lowland (including urban areas)and water environments, across approx. 5,000km2 area of Northumberland and Tyne and Wear.
