Story
This Christmas, I will be taking on a special challenge to give back to the hospital that saved my life. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with locally advanced bowel cancer. After an uncertain few weeks, I had surgery on 18th December to remove the tumour, along with 70% of my colon, part of my liver, part of my stomach, my gall bladder and ovaries. I was told I would be in hospital over Christmas, but thanks to the brilliant care I received at Basingstoke Hospital, I made it home just in time for The Muppets Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve! To celebrate 5 years cancer free, my lovely sister-in-law Joanne and I will be abseiling nearly 75ft down the main hospital building at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital...dressed as Father Christmas!
We are raising funds for Hampshire Hospitals Charity to support patients, staff and volunteers at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This trust serves a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of west Berkshire and cares for patients in Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover and Alton hospitals. Our goal is to raise £300 by 18th November 2023.
Please join us in supporting this amazing charity by donating today. Every donation helps make a difference! Thank you for visiting my page.
