Story
This year would have been my Dad’s 80th birthday but sadly, he was taken far too early when he passed away in 2013 from bowel cancer.
He spent his last 2 weeks at the Rowans hospice when it became too difficult for my Mum and I to care for him on our own at home. After spending the 2 weeks prior to this in hospital, Rowans was the place my Dad asked to go to, somewhere he felt happy to spend his last days and somewhere we were happy for him to be knowing how well he’d be cared for.
While the final 2 weeks were incredibly sad and hard for us as a family, Rowans made it that little bit easier and manageable by providing care to my Dad, Mum and I and for being so kind and supportive to us.
Every year since losing Dad, we walk the moonlit memories walk to raise money for Rowans and in his memory and this year, albeit a name change, we are doing it again.
Thank you for any donations made - it all goes to such a great charity so they can provide for more families what they did for mine ❤️
Rowans Hospice provide palliative care to the highest quality for those living with a life-limiting illness in South East Hampshire. Our hospice carers help improve quality of life for the patient by easing physical symptoms and offering psychological, spiritual and social support to both patients and their loved ones. Hospice care is available round the clock. We receive a very small level of statutory support from the Government, however, almost all of the money needed to provide our services has to be raised through donations and fundraising
