I first signed up to the across Wales walking challenge earlier this year to celebrate one year on after my last hospital stay for treatment for Thyroid cancer . Since signing up to do the challenge , our Mum has sadly been facing a cancer diagnosis of her own and after coming through the other side of surgery is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

I'm going to be walking in support of a charity that is close to our hearts as a family since Mums diagnosis earlier this year The Maggies centre in Glasgow offer both patients and their families a welcoming environment to go for help , support and free specialist advice or even just to go for a cup of tea in a more of a calming, softer feeling environment that is separate from the main wards of the hospital before or in-between appointments. 

The support and the environment of the Maggie centres in locations throughout the UK is invaluable especially when facing and going through what can be an incredibly lonely and scary time.

The Maggies centres and their team members  are funded and run on donations with this in mind I would absolutely love to be able to help towards the incredible work they do by raising a target of £10 a mile as part of the across Wales challenge that is officially 46miles and to be completed in less than 24hrs
