As a Haematology Nurse Specialist I have first hand knowledge, on a daily basis, of the incredible support ELF provides for patients with blood cancer and other disorders. ELF is the leading patient-led support organisation for families affected by blood cancer in the South West and, along with my nurse specialist role, I am very proud to be one of the charity’s trustees. Every day there are so many examples of the amazing support ELF provides from counselling, the patient transport service, financial support grants and accommodation, through to building The Chevithorne family suite to name but a few. All these initiatives help to make a difference to the experiences for our patients and their families during a time of increased need.

ELF need our continued support and this is why I’m going to take on the challenge of a skydive.

Those who know me will understand I am not fond of heights. Indeed, last year I nominated my husband to jump out of the plane on behalf of the Fox family instead of me!!! As John’s feet touched the ground Andy asked me if I would think about a skydive on behalf of ELF in 2024 and …. apparently, I said yes!!!!!! So, it’s my turn now….

I’m very much looking forward to supporting ELF through fundraising and in doing so, saying an enormous thank you for all the support for patients and their families this amazing charity provides, as well as the support ELF have given over the years to the haematology department.
