Story

On 23rd July 2023 a month after my 50th Birthday I will be running my 1st ever half marathon at Castle Howard to raise money for the Encephalitis Society.

As many of you know my eldest son has twice now been stuck down with this awful illness, most recently in April this year.

On both occasions the Encephalitis society were on hand to give us information, reassurance and hugely helped us when my son was in hospital.

I want to raise awareness as well as funds to help support this charity with this little known illness so please give what you can to help fund the amazing work they do, their support to us was invaluable ❤️

The encephalitis society’s mission: Our mission is to increase global awareness of encephalitis, saving lives and building better futures.

Worldwide, a person is diagnosed with encephalitis (brain inflammation) every minute. Caused by infection or by autoimmune diseases, encephalitis strikes children and adults alike with no respect for gender or ethnicity. It is an acutely serious condition with high mortality rates, leaving many who survive with an acquired brain injury which will affect their memory, thinking and personality for the rest of their lives.
