Story
I am fundraising for Beat, the UK's eating disorder charity. Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, whether diagnosed or not, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care.
These serious illnesses include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. 1.25 million people in the UK have a diagnosed eating disorder. They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and up to one in four sufferers are male.
Eva Musby's resources can be really helpful in trying to understand these illnesses - check out her 'Bungee Jump' analogy to find out more.
Beat provide Helpline support by phone, email, webchat through their social media accounts and by letter. Calls to the helpline are free from landlines and mobile phones within the UK and do not appear on itemised bills.
