Hello everyone!

To mark the week of World Cancer Day, we’ll be hosting a community fundraiser on Saturday 8th February at Little Melton Village Hall to raise critical funds for our brilliant local cancer charity here in East Anglia, the Big C, and for Cancer Research UK, the world’s largest cancer research charity, who carry out groundbreaking research into prevention and treatment of the disease.

Between 10 am and 1 pm the Hall will be open for you to join us for teas, coffees, and a whole bunch of delicious cakes. We’ll also have a few games set up for families to enjoy and a tombola, so please do come on down and get involved.

Few of us will have the good fortune to live our lives without being touched by this cruel disease in some way or another. Whether its in memory of a loved one, in tribute to those we care for living with cancer, or an investment in a healthier future for us all, we’re hoping that you’ll all join us in raising money for these fantastic charities that do the important work on the ground to give us all that much needed hope for the future.

Big C, established in Norfolk in 1980, is our local cancer charity. Through support, research, equipment and education, they make a difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer. With four Cancer Support & Information centres across Norfolk, Big C also provides bundles of support by telephone and online. The Centres are used by thousands of people affected by cancer in our region with trained staff providing emotional help, support and complementary therapies that make the stress of a cancer diagnosis a little easier to bear.

We hope you'll join us on the 8th to share your experiences of cancer and happy memories of those you miss all over a hot cuppa and a slice of delicious cake.
