Story
Hi - So let me tell you all about Dance Floor Heroes, my part in this exciting event and how I am raising money for Tia's Crown - An amazing charity set up to support mental & physical wellbeing through dance..
💃On June 14th, I've been handpicked as one of the dazzling dozen finalists destined to sashay across the renowned Empress Ballroom in Blackpool's Winter Gardens. Now, you might be wondering, "Since when are you a ballroom dancer?" Well, truth be told, "strictly" .... I'm not!.
👉Dance Floor Heroes 2024 is a one-shot spectacle where regular folks like me get to channel their inner Strictly stars under the dazzling lights of the Winter Gardens Empress Ballroom.
👊As a finalist, I'll be hitting the dance floor in all my glitzy glory. This time, though, I'm leaving behind my handbag and mini-skirt and diving headfirst into the world of "strictly", with full Ballroom; costume, choregraphed dance and even my very own professional dancer (woop!).
💃After six weeks of intense training with my dance pro, I'm hoping to conquer my "two left feet syndrome" once and for all—so wish me luck!
My motto is to never take life too seriously and always keep a good sense of humor, especially when faced with life challenges.

Now, let's talk about the fundraiser tied to this fantastic event - Tia's Crown!
👑 I'm raising funds for Tia's Crown, a charity close to my heart. Dance has been a lifeline for me, both physically and mentally, and this cause aims to support others in a similar way.
💜In 2023, I realized I needed to carve out some time for myself—I wasn't getting any younger, and that mid-life waistline wasn't going to budge on its own! So, I dove into Latin dance classes! Dancing not only helped me on a physical level, but also my mental health. I found a new passion, a new sense of purpose and to mention, landing me in this crazy dance competition!
Balancing life as a busy working Mum to a son with special needs & heart condition has been quite the emotional rollercoaster over the last 9 years.
🙈Since this year's theme is all about pushing boundaries, I figured, why not confront another fear of mine—heights? That's right so before the big dance-off, on June 2nd, I'm taking the plunge (literally) with a skydive from 15,000 feet! (because apparently, that's less scary than performing live!) eeek!😱🛩️
🙏I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity while raising funds for a meaningful cause. It would mean the world to me if you could lend your support as I tackle these life-altering (and slightly terrifying) challenges.
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE! This experience has made me realise that whatever age you are, its never too late to take on new challenges or embrace those lifetime ambitions. It's all about the journey, not just the trophy!
