Story
We have lost four members of our family to brain tumours. Claire’s mammy was just 67yrs old when she was taken from us. Her youngest sister (and Louise's sister-in-law) Angie, aged 36yrs. Angie's only child Max, diagnosed a week before his 18th birthday and died a week after turning 19. Louise raised Max with her husband Stuart after Angie passed away. Just this year, Claire’s cousin David, aged 56yrs.
We are self funding our places on the Trek so every penny we raise will go directly to Brain Tumour Research. We will be taking on this challenge to raise money and awareness for this very worthwhile charity which has a special place our hearts. They have been a tremendous support to us and our family. This is our way of saying Thank You. This Trek will be a huge challenge for us and we are so looking forward to it. Though equally scared.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
We are fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
