Team: Mount Mulanje Challengers raise money for Open Arms Malawi
On 21st June 2025 a small group of us are travelling to Malawi to take on a challenging 3 day climb of Mount Mulanje to reach Sapitwa Peak. Translated as the 'unreachable peak' we'll have to navigate difficult climbs and rocky terrain to reach the 3002m summit - the highest point in South-Central Africa.
I’m planning to take part in this and a series of challenges this year (with anyone I can rope in to join!) to support the vital work of Open Arms.
The next ones up are;
A coastal trail half marathon in April, which looks brilliantly terrifying
A Wild Hybrid event in May which is a mix of trail runs and functional fitness (whatever that is!!)
The three day hike of Malawi’s highest peak in June.
All funds raised will give life saving support to vulnerable children and their families in Malawi.
From providing the very basics like food and shelter and access to medical care, to supporting education and creating opportunities for income generation. Open Arms has a huge impact on children, families and communities making sure any help makes a lasting change.
What I love most about this charity is that it’s run locally in Malawi to strengthen local systems. It isn’t about giving handouts, it’s about making a real change and empowering families to become self sufficient.
It would be amazing if you can help.
Thank you so much for reading! Send good vibes, good energy (and spare cash) this way!
