Story
In March this year my Dad was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer, news that obviously struck him and my family pretty hard. Thankfully, by some stretch of a miracle it was caught early, so we could nip it in the bud before it became too late. My Dad underwent a full nephrectomy in May, and by June he was given the all clear.
My family have known about Action Kidney Cancer for many years, and as soon as we got the news, Dad immediately reached out to them. They couldn't have been more wonderful. They were kind, caring, understanding and patient with Dad as he navigated the news and started to understand what he needed to do to help heal his body. They left no stone unturned and happily chatted to him for as long as he needed. They sent so much great information to us, so we as a family also knew what we could to to help support Dad.
This will be my 3rd 24 Hour Charity Stream, and this year I asked Dad to choose the charity I should raise money for. He straight away said 'Action Kidney Cancer' ... and so, here we are!
