Story
In November 2019, our Dad, Stepdad, Husband, and Friend, David Civil, was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Since then, our family has experienced many ups and downs, marked by some deeply challenging and emotional moments. But we are a family that doesn’t give up, no matter how tough the situation may be.
To honour David’s resilience and to support the bowel cancer charity, we have decided to take on an extreme physical challenge, raising funds and awareness to help reduce the impact of this illness on other families in the future.
In April, Will and Felix are planning to run from London to Paris over the course of seven days - a journey equivalent to running an ultra-marathon every day. This challenge will conclude on the 8th day with both of them joining family members to run the Paris Marathon on April 13, 2025. Altogether, this effort will cover a distance of 390 km.
David’s daughters, Lily and Rosie, are stepping up to run their first marathon and, though nervous, are excited for the experience. David’s wife, Helen, and stepdaughter, Ines, will also be running - Helen for the second time and Ines for her first marathon. Felix’s partner, Leah, and family friend, Graeme, will be there to support as well. Both experienced runners, they’re thrilled to participate in such an iconic event for the first time.
Our goal is to cross the finish line together as a family - an unforgettable moment.
We’ve already put extensive planning and training into this challenge, and it will demand even more in the coming months. We anticipate plenty of blood, sweat, and maybe a few tears along the way, but it’s all in service of a cause that is close to our hearts.
Please support us by donating whatever you can to this incredible charity. Every contribution helps make life a bit easier for those facing bowel cancer and their families.
Thank you.
