Story
The Cirencester Community Railway Project, operating under the umbrella of the Cirencester Community Development Trust, is on a mission to revive a vital connection between Cirencester town and Kemble mainline station. This initiative aims to reinstate the rail service that was closed in 1964, bringing back a sense of community and accessibility.
By using a Very Light Rail battery electric shuttle, we will not only provide residents with a convenient and comfortable mode of transport but also invigorate our local economy. Hotels, museums, venues, and businesses will all benefit from increased foot traffic and engagement.
This project is more than just transportation; it represents a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and combatting pollution in our area and in our oceans. We believe that sustainable transport solutions are essential for the future of our community. However, to turn this vision into reality, we need your support.
We are currently seeking to raise £40,000 to finalise the necessary documents for our Transport and Works Act application. Your contribution will be instrumental in getting this project off the ground. If you share our belief that this is a step in the right direction for Cirencester, we urge you to help us make it happen. Together, we can create a brighter future for our community.
