Story
Our son, and Alex's brother, Christopher died in March 2023 aged 27 after a lifetime struggling with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. So we are taking on the Pedal, Paddle, Peak challenge in memory of Christopher and in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Our team – Christopher’s Champions – consists of me (Nick) and my school friend James together with our respective sons, Alex and Will.
Christopher loved travelling and being out and about in the countryside despite all the challenges that typically entailed. The Lake District was one of many places that he visited on multiple occasions, making the Pedal, Paddle, Peak challenge a very fitting tribute to his memory.
So please help us to help MDUK and support team Christopher’s Champions in our epic challenge as we cycle 30 miles, paddle 2 miles on Ullswater and climb Helvellyn – all in hopefully less than 9 hours!
Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and it many cases, it limits lives. MDUK fund world-class research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions.
All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Rachel & Nick.
