Our fundraising ambition is to help complete the transformation of the Thornton Brontë Birthplace into a vital, social and educational space with a cafe and themed Airbnb rooms that will make this remarkable project self-sustaining.
The house has already been bought by the local community and work on the transformation is under way.
At 10am on Easter Sunday, 20th April 2025, we shall start the walk from the house where the Brontë children were born in our local village of Thornton through beautiful scenic countryside to the Brontë Parsonage in Haworth, re-enacting the Brontës’ 1820 journey in period costume. For part of the way, we are hoping to be able to ride on or walk alongside a horse-drawn cart,
