Story
The Haiti Fund at Building Goodness Foundation supports the design and construction of safe and sustainable buildings and homes, built by and with the people of Haiti.
High-quality, structurally-sound construction is critically needed in Haiti. An estimated 300,000 people died in the 2010 Haiti earthquake, in large part because their concrete buildings were not built correctly and collapsed in the earthquake, crushing anyone who was inside.
BGF has been building structurally-sound, custom designed, culturally-representative buildings and homes in Haiti since 1999. 100% of BGF buildings and homes have remained structurally in-tact throughout every recent natural disaster, including the 2010 Haitian earthquake, Hurricane Matthew, and the 2021 earthquake. In fact, BGF buildings serve as safe havens during storms.
