Story
Donaghmore GAA have supported a Christmas collection for local charities for the past 5 years with a street bucket collection on Christmas Eve. Our bucket collectors will be out on Main St. Donaghmore this Christmas Eve, however if you prefer you can donate on-line via Just Giving.
Our previous bucket collections have collected generous donations which have supported our charities.
All monies collected this year will be shared across these local charities
Laurens Legacy
Laurens Legacy was started to remember Lauren , a local charity close to our heart.
It was set up after the untimely death of Lauren Bullock.
Lauren wanted to be a social worker so all money that is raised by her charity will go to what Lauren would have wanted to go to ie helping those in need; carrying on Laurens Legacy
Simon Community ( homeless )
The Simon Community is N Irelands largest leading homeless charity.
They deliver hundreds of bed spaces each night for those requiring both short or long term shelter.
In addition to providing shelter they help with a range of issues including
Accessing food and clothing, applying for benefits, and health and well being.
A great charity getting people of the streets on these bitter cold nights especially so close to Xmas .
Kevin bell repatriation Trust
This charity does tremendous work, bringing home over 1400 bodies.
It aims to alleviate the financial hardship of berieved families repatriating the bodies of loved ones who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland 🇮🇪
Most recently helping to bring home the remains of local county hurler Damien Casey.
I'm sure you'll all agree 3 very worthwhile charities.
Our volunteers will be out on Main St. Donaghmore on Christmas Eve with our buckets so please be as generous as possible or alternatively donate using the link below on our just giving page.
