Story
On Saturday 12th October 2024 I'm joining friends, Karen and John Handford, my wonderful daughters and fantastic supporters, to help the vital work that St George's Hospital, Tooting provides to those receiving the diagnosis of a brain tumour.
We all know loved ones who have been affected, and most recently my husband the inspiring and incredible Richard Sullivan, pictured here; proudly sporting a Project 21forlife Tshirt - depicting the fundraiser that Richard pioneered on receiving his own devastating diagnosis.
Sadly, Richard lost his fight against brain cancer in March of this year but we are determined to continue his legacy.
The challenge? To walk 21 kilometres from Hampton Court to St George's Hospital, Tooting, in support of the John King Brain Tumour Foundation.
The goal? To benefit over 1,000 adult and paediatric neurosurgical patients each year at St George’s Hospital by purchasing a Stealth Autoguide Robotics Guidance Platform. This vital piece of equipment, which can’t be funded by the NHS, will enable surgeons to perform more accurate positioning of implants tailored to each patient’s anatomy, meaning shorter surgical time and reduced radiation exposure - both patient and surgeon safety will be improved with greater surgical success.
As always, with our small charity, our money goes directly to where it's needed and we are proud of our proven track record in doing so. Please check out the results of our achievements thanks to generous donations at www.johnkingbraintumourfoundation.co.uk
I'm aiming to raise as much money as possible to support this goal. If you feel able to support, please press the ‘Give Now’ button. Any donation, no matter how small is very gratefully received. It all adds up. Thank you!
