Story
As many of you know Barri sadly lost his battle with Prostate Cancer on 9th September 2023. Without the support we received from the Hospicare Team Barri would have struggled more than he already did. They offered respite, pain relief, understanding and compassion. As a small, but heartfelt 'thank you', Tori, Stefan and I decided to take part in the Summer Walk and raise some vitally needed funds to enable Hospicare to help other families in need.
Time is precious. Every day matters. And I'm determined to take part in Hospiscare’s Summer Walk 2024, to help make sure Hospiscare can be there for local patients and their families during one of life’s most difficult journeys.
Hospiscare is a local charity, caring for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Their teams of doctors and nurses offer free specialist palliative care, to ensure patients are able to make the most of the time they have left and live every day to its fullest. Hospiscare rely on the generosity of the community in order to keep their services going, and with costs rising, they need our help.
I was shocked that Hospiscare receive less than half the national average of statutory funding, and I believe that the people of Exeter, Mid and East Devon deserve access to the outstanding end-of-life care Hospiscare provide. I’m ready to stand by my local hospice and complete the 7 mile sponsored walk – please show your support!
