Story
I am excited to be taking part in Birmingham Mind's Mental Elf Festive Fun Run on Sunday 1st December at Cannon Hill Park with my husband Liam.
This is a unique event which focuses on bringing people together, not only to fundraise, but to raise awareness for mental health and wellbeing. It promotes the benefits of physical activity, connecting with people and doing something to help others.
I want to promote the changes to your hormones during perimenopause and menopause and how it can impact your mental health. You may experience feelings of overwhelm, stress, anxiety or even depression. Menopausal symptoms may include:
Low mood, feeling unhappy or depressed
Feeling tense or nervous
Memory problems
Panic attacks or anxiety
Loss of confidence
Anger and irritability
Poor concentration (brain fog).
Thanks to The Birmingham Menopause Clinic for all the support and understanding you are giving me during my journey throughout the perimenopause and for all the future support I will have until I reach Menopause. Thanks to HRT and CBT I was able to overcome a very challenging time. Here's to surviving and being grateful for my future ahead!
A huge thank you to my husband Liam for joining me on my walk! Will always remember the love and support you gave me during my battle with the perimenopause and the support you continue to give me. Here's to a new chapter in our lives together ❤️.
Here's to good mental health especially for any ladies going through the perimenopause.
Love
Christina Casey
