Story
Can you imagine having a child admitted to the hospital for treatment, or being the parent of a newborn preemie who has to stay in the NICU? Now imagine that hospital is miles from home and that on top of the stress and worry you also have to commute back-and-forth to home each night or figure out how to pay for a hotel and meals.
But because of the Ronald McDonald Houses in Peoria and Springfield, hundreds of families each year are saved this second worry and can instead focus on their child's wellbeing. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois provides families with a supportive place to stay when their child is receiving medical care. Not only do they provide families with a private room and bathroom, they make sure all their needs are met: laundry services, meals, cleaning, and comfort.
Families are never asked to pay when they stay at a House, therefore events like Wine Women & Shoes are critical to the love and care they provide families.
Thank you for donating and for making a difference in the lives of Central Illinois families.
