Story

Samaritan’s “Day of Giving” is an invitation to to invest in the future of palliative and hospice care by contributing to the endowment for The Mary Ann Boccolini Institute for Research, Education and Innovation.

After a quarter-century of servant leadership, Samaritan’s President and CEO, Mary Ann Boccolini retired at the end of 2022. As a lasting legacy to her lifelong passion to advance hospice and palliative care, Samaritan has established The Mary Ann Boccolini Institute for Education, Research, and Innovation. The Institute will lead the advancement of person-centered, life-enhancing care through such potential new and ongoing programs as our palliative medicine fellowship, nursing scholarships, community outreach and continuing education, peer-reviewed research and publications, convening the community around such issues as social isolation and loneliness, and the pursuit of innovative advancements in hospice and palliative care.
