UPDATE April 2024 -
Unfortunately, on 9th April we were unlucky to experience a second ectopic pregnancy requiring surgery to remove Emma’s second fallopian tube. This cause and challenge was already very close to our hearts but it has now become so much more than that.
——
In December 2023, we experienced an ectopic pregnancy, which led to emergency surgery. Prior to this, we both had little to no understanding of what an ectopic pregnancy was or how traumatic the experience can be.
We left the hospital a little lost and with no information but after finding The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (EPT) we were provided with lots of support and compassion.
We are taking part in the EPT1000 challenge during 2024. The challenge is to run/walk/cycle a distance of 1000km over the year. Murray (our four-legged mascot) will also be making lots of guest appearances for moral support on some of our walks!
As part of this challenge, Chris will be running the Cambridge Half Marathon, Great North Run and (because he apparently enjoys punishment) the Manchester Marathon. Emma will be completing a good portion of her distance just by following Chris as "race day support" at the above events!!
We would be so grateful for any donation, no matter the size. Anything you can give will support this fantastic charity who rely solely on donations to keep them going.
A massive 'thank you' from us both.
