Story

I’ll be running 30 half marathons in 30 days, from March 8th to April 6th to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation and their crucial work.

Why This Challenge?

On average, 2 in 3 people in the UK (64%) say they feel the need to bottle things up and put on a brave face instead of discussing their mental health.

We all go through challenges in life, big or small , but many people find it hard to open up and talk about what's on our mind.

Often feeling like they'd be a burden, that people won’t care or simply not knowing how to start the conversation.

By taking on this challenge, I want to shine a light on this issue, encourage more people to talk and make sure less people suffers in silence.

The Plan:

To highlight this, each of my 20 halves will focus on a specific topic related to our mental health, where you’re welcome to run with me and chat about these (whether that's for 1-2km or the whole half).

The topics will include things such as handling anxiety, self-talk, comparison with others, managing stress and many more.

You'll be given a thought-provoking question to discuss and ask along the way.

If you'd like to take part in one of these runs, complete this short form to stay updated of my schedule, with the locations, times and dates of the runs: https://forms.gle/LPkKhjFjjxmaJg6V7

These 30 days will also include official half marathons in Lisbon, Rome, Malaga, Seville and London.

Why This Cause Matters to Me:

I’ve personally struggled with anxiety, which sparked my journey into understanding and managing my mental health.

I’ve also seen many people struggle with their well-being in my professional life too through the work I do as a coach.

Learning to manage and take care of my own mental health and talking openly about it has been a powerful tool, and I want to encourage others to do the same—both reactively and proactively.

About the Mental Health Foundation:

The Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s charity for everyone’s mental health.

With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive.
