Story

This October I'll be running the Bournemouth Half Marathon for Diverse Abilities.

I've been training for it and hope to complete the 13.1miles / 21 km in 1 hour 45 mins (or as close as I can to it)

Its going to be a challenge; 5mins per km for the duration... (or 4 and a bit 5km Park runs in 25mins, back to back)

Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated, and the first £500 will be matched through my work so I'm hoping we can make a good amount for this great charity.

As many of you will know, our eldest daughter is autistic and has a number of sensory, learning and care needs. Diverse Abilities, run one of the few regular groups we can attend as a family to get support. Due to increasing demand on Diverse Abilities they have moved to a new site to increase their capacity. Named ‘The Treehouse’, the new location offers various spaces including a sensory room, soft play area and games room.

Diverse Abilities is the only charity that supports children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities in Dorset.

We cannot change people’s disabilities but, with your help, we can make their lives fun and fulfilled, giving them a future they truly deserve.
