Story
In April 2023, my son Harry was given the heartbreaking diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (or ALL for short). Needless to say, our entire world has been flipped upside down, and it will remain that way until at least 8th June 2026, when Harry’s treatment will end. The challenges and heartache we have faced as a family will stay with us for a considerable while longer.
Fortunately, we have met some fantastic families (and friends for life) that are going through the same or similar challenges at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital in Cardiff, and a few of us Dads have decided to take action by participating in a skydiving fundraiser in support of Kids Cancer Charity.
Every donation made to our Just Giving page will directly contribute to the fantastic efforts of the charity, as the cost of the skydive has been covered by ourselves.
Kids Cancer Charity have been caring for and supporting families like ours for over 30 years and their hard work helps to ensure the quality of life for children with cancer is a right, not a luxury. They are probably best known for their ‘Holiday Programme’ which offers trips to caravans on specially chosen sites situated on the Welsh coast, where our families can get away from the pressures of hospitals and treatments. The programme also provides resort holidays in Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland Paris, where their partners can provide a unique programme of supervised and special facilities. Put simply, their aim is to provide us with memories to last for a lifetime.
By participating in this skydiving event, we want to not only raise funds but also spread awareness about childhood cancer and the pressing need for continued support and research. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful impact for kids like ours. Thank you.
