London Marathon 2025 for The 353 Trust and Support our Para's

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hello everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to click on this page, and follow Mid_Life_Marathon on Instagram, give it a like, a follow, a share, but for now this is my story.
In 2025 I will be running the London Marathon in aid of 2 charities close to me, 353.org.uk and Support Our Para's.
In 2010 I was deployed on Op Herrick 13 whilst I was serving with The 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment. In February 2011 whilst out on patrol from our check point, 'CP Qudrat', the patrol came under enemy fire and during this fire fight, 2 paratroopers made the ultimate sacrifice.
Pte Conrad Lewis and Pte Lewis Hendry both came under fire and were hit. They were seen to on the ground and we did everything we could but sadly both surcomed to their injuries later on the same day.
In memory of Conrad his father Tony, started the charity 353.org.uk as Conrad was the 353rd British soilder killed during the war in Afghanistan.
353 is more than just a number, he was my friend, a son, a brother and a partner. 353 run with the ethos, GET BUSY LIVING, and that's exactly what I'm doing here. The funds raised and donated will go straight to 353 and Support Our Para's.
This will be used to support serving and former paratroopers and other British Miltary personnel in their hour of need. I have already worked with Tony and 353 on previous projects and cannot commend Tony enough for the legacy he has built in memory of Conrad.
This is me doing my big thank you to 353 and continuing to support as many paratroopers as I can.
So in memory of the boys and more recent Sgt Dean "Waldo" Walton who passed away, served with us in Cp Qudrat running with us daily into firefights, leading from the front, I'm doing this for you my friends.
So follow the journey Mid_Life_Marathon on Instagram where I'll be documenting a zero to hero Marathon looking for a sub 4 hour race. Anything you can donate would be amazing but the shares and likes would mean more and spread the word.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Chris.
