Story
WCT delivers a range of services that make a big difference to the daily lives of people in Worcester’s communities. The services aim to reduce loneliness and isolation, offer specialist support for survivors of domestic abuse, support people into training, education and employment and work with people to deliver local services especially for young people, families, and older people. Last year, the charity supported more than 2,000 local people through their projects and welcomed more than 10,000 visitors into their community hubs.
Chris’ wife Ceri is the Wellbeing Services Manager for the Trust, so he sees firsthand the amazing impact the charity has on people in the local area every day.
The funds Chris raises will be split between the charity’s vital Wellbeing Services, combating loneliness and isolation, and its construction training centre “The Building Block”, which undertakes amazing work to enable the community to participate in construction and trade workshops and learn or develop their building and DIY skills.
“I have previously completed 10k runs and half marathons, but this year I wanted to set myself the challenge of running a full marathon. Working in the construction industry myself, I am keen to help support the centre in any way I can."
