Story
In 2024 I wanted to continue to push myself to find my limits and hopefully inspire a few people and raise some money along the way!
I set myself two major challenges only 8 weeks apart - first completing the 100km Fellsman on 28 April, which is set in the stunning but mountainous, boggy and rugged Yorkshire Dales. With over 12,500ft it was a challenge I had taken on before, but was yet to complete.
Only 8 weeks later on June 22, I will do another 100km, this time on the Cotswolds Way. The Cotswolds Way is a beautiful long distance path, that I am lucky enough to live close to to train on. Its not mountainous, but anyone who walks on it will soon understand how lumpy it is. There are a lot of hills to cover during the 100km!
As part of the training I also went 4 months without booze or a Greggs (my favourite lunch) at the start of this year. Which was a major challenge!
So any support you can give would mean the world!
This year we are funding for Smile4Wessex, which is a wonderful cause. Smile4Wessex provide charitable support to the Wessex Neurological Centre, within Southampton General Hospital. This is one of the largest and most highly respected neurological centres in the UK. The unit provides acute specialist care to a population of approximately three million people across the South Coast, the Isle of Wight and Channel Islands, for a variety of neurological conditions, including; brain tumour, brain injury, stroke, brain haemorrhage, epilepsy, motor neurone disease and dementia. Our appeals ensure that the Wessex Neurological Centre is equipped with the very best technology and facilities available, to enhance the range and quality of patient care and to also sponsor pioneering research into new treatments.
