Story
A charity yoga class & cake sale on Sunday 13th October 2024, 09:30-10:30 at Holcombe Brook Tennis Club.
Please read below to understand why I am asking for you all to dig deep for the below charity. A yogi from my yoga class on (YoGoreU) Monday evenings - her 8 year old nephew was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (a form of bone cancer) in January 2024
After almost 4 months of chemotherapy the tumour had not responded as hoped, resulting in the only viable option, to have his leg amputated above his knee in April 2024.
The diagnosis completely devastated them as a family, cancer alone is horrendous, but for a child, who was running and playing rugby only weeks before, this has been a traumatic and harrowing experience. He is now waiting for his prosthetic leg to be fitted whilst undergoing two intensive, simultaneous, rounds of chemo and immuno therapy, which is expected to last until December 2024.
Noah’s Ark rely on donations, they are a huge source of support during such horrific times for families with children being diagnosed with life threatening diseases. They support children and their families all over the UK in desperate times. They provide a private room for patients so they have their own space where they can decorate their own window, a bed for family to stay in the room with them and accommodation so other family members can visit. The nurses are so friendly and reassuring in this terrifying time.
They provide counselling, respite, and have emergency supplies for emergency admissions; spare pyjamas, toiletries (etc.) and continue to provide emotional support to all the family, bringing fun and joy to patients, with visits from characters such as the Easter bunny to cheer everyone up, to having compassionate, knowledgable staff to explain the surgeries to children in a way to reduce fear and give them a sense of control and understanding and to further develop research into treatment, they need us all to help and donate.
Please donate as much as you comfortably can, everything is appreciated.
Thank you.
