Story

Hello. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This year, starting on the day that would have been my Mum’s 75th birthday, Phil and I are going to walk the first half of the Cleveland Way.

I lost my dear Mum quite suddenly in 2021. I wanted to do something to remember her, surrounded by nature and with a smile…and there’ll be plenty of heather, cups of tea and cake too which I know she’d approve of!

The route will take us from Helmsley, across moors and hills, ending at Saltburn-by-the-Sea. This part of the world is really special to me as it’s where my Mum grew up and where I spent my early years with her.

Mum’s artistic endeavours and creativity were always a real source of joy and solace for her. In memory of this I’m raising money for Arts and Minds, a friendly, social and creative group run by artists to support the wellbeing of people in Middlesbrough and Stockton as part of Mind’s local programmes in Cleveland. You can read more about their work here: https://www.middlesbroughandstocktonmind.org.uk/how-we-can-support-you/our-services/arts-and-minds

It’s 57, quite hilly, miles, over five days, which is no small feat for my little legs, so any donations will power me up the steep banks and keep me marching on through rain and shine! Thank you for sponsoring me and helping me pay tribute to my amazing Mum at the same time.
