Story
Thank you for visiting our page. We’ve crazily chosen to run the 2025 London Marathon for Sarcoma UK, in memory of Sharon. She’ll be looking down on us, laughing and calling us mad!! We’ve never ran further than 10K so this really is a challenge for us, but we’re doing it for her 🩷
Sarcoma UK is a charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting us, we can help change this.
Sharon was diagnosed with stage 4 Endometrial Sarcoma in July 2023 and was receiving treatment at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. Very sadly, Sharon passed away suddenly on 19th September 2023.
Sharon was an amazing woman who was loved by so many. She was a devoted wife to Darren, and Mum to Chloe and Jacob. She would have made the most caring Nana in the world, and we are all so sad she never got the chance to meet and cuddle her granddaughter, Hallie Sharon-Rose, who was born 11 days after she passed. Sharon had so many wonderful friends and always had a smile on her face.
Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community. To run for Sarcoma UK, we need to raise £4,800 between us to ensure sufficient funds are received to make a real difference:
£25 Could fund a Research Associate to work on a Sarcoma UK research project for one hour.
£334 Could fund Sarcoma UK's specialist Support Line for a day.
£2,000 Could help with the manufacture of a new-generation drug (PROTAC) which specifically targets sarcoma proteins and could reduce treatment side-effects.
Thank you for helping us make an impact.
