Story

Chiswick Guide Dogs Community have started their 2025 Appeal after a busy January including very enjoyable visits to schools and the very welcoming St Andrews Fellowship at Christ Church Turnham Green - many thanks to all.

Meanwhile Guide Dog owner Heather and her new dog Quincey are going well after completing full training and over a year together. Heather has been “free running” Quincey with other Guide Dogs in Chiswick House grounds, Gunnersbury Park and Homefield Recreation Ground.

Quincey is the dog on the left of the photo that also features Guide Dog Faldo at the front and Ambassador Dog Upton- plus a smaller dog who happened to join in (and is not a Guide Dog!)

Chiswick Guide Dogs dedicated a previous Appeal to Guide Dog Violet who retired at ten years old. Violet was in partnership with Guide Dog Owner Heather for 8 years and now lives with Heather's friends at the seaside.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
