Story

Guide Dog owner Heather has welcomed her new dog Quincey and they are going well together after 2 months training. Heather has been “free running” Quincey with other Guide Dogs in Chiswick House grounds, Gunnersbury Park and Homefield Recreation Ground.

Quincey is the dog on the left of the photo below that also features Guide Dog Faldo at the front and Ambassador Dog Upton- plus a smaller dog who happened to join in (and is not a Guide Dog!)

Chiswick Guide Dogs dedicated the October Appeal to Guide Dog Violet who retired at ten years old. Violet has been in partnership with Guide Dog Owner Heather for 8 years and is going to live with Heather's friends at the seaside. Heather says ''Violet remains enthusiastic and fit as a fantastic Guide Dog but at ten years old it is time she retired with all my love, thanks and best wishes. I will now be joining the waiting list for a new Guide Dog.''

Chiswick Guide Dogs have launched their October Appeal with Heather, Violet and the team at the Eye Studio on the Chiswick High Road who have looked after the Guide Dogs collecting dog for many years

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
