Myself and 25 other people are setting ourselves a challenge over the next couple of months to raise £1000 each in support of the ICAS foundation. The ICAS foundation supports young people from disadvantaged communities who want to study accountancy and finance at university by offering bursaries, personal mentors and support in obtaining internships and graduate jobs.

I will be challenging myself to run a half-marathon. As someone who has never run more than 10km, this challenge is definitely way out of my comfort zone but I truly believe that it is for a worthy cause.

The foundation has had remarkable success and in recent years over 95% of the students supported graduated with a 1st class or upper second honours degree. Your donation will contribute to widening access into the accountancy profession and making a positive change in a young persons life.

Although we are encouraging family and friends to donate we have a secondary target that at least 10 of our sponsors are CAs from our personal networks. So collectively we hope to raise £25k and engage 250 CAs.
