Campaign by Who Dares Cares (RCN SC047018)
Run, swim, walk, cycle or canoe to remember those that crossed the Channel to start the liberation of Europe 80 years ago. Not only will we remember the fallen, but also the living who returned home with combat exhaustion and lived with PTSD.

Story

Hi everyone, I’ve decided to complete a personal challenge, for an awesome charity this year. It is a personal challenge as I suffer with an autoimmune thyroid disease and arthritis. This can at times strip me of all my energy. This can often feel like…. A battery operated toy, which the batteries are starting to be needed to replace. Your whole body just slowly stops functioning properly and rest is urgently required.

Despite this, with a can do attitude, a good walk, or cycle can clear your mind and bring positivity.

Please support me on our personal challenge for Who Dares Cares during 2024. I will walk or cycle to remember those that crossed the Channel to start the liberation of Europe 80 years ago. Not only will I remember and honour the fallen that did not return home, but I will also remember the living who returned home with combat exhaustion and lived with the traumatic experiences from the war.

Let us be reminded of the veterans of all wars who suffer(ed) with PTSD. Some never discussed what they experienced and lived with their battles daily which back from war, with no support, just had to get on. Some of these veterans are no longer with us through battling their own demons and at Who Dares Cares they always go a little further in supporting veterans suffering with PTSD in combating their condition and saving life's. With your help in fundraising vital funds during campaign R1944, Who Dares Cares provides vital support for Veterans and their families and for Blue Light Services. Your donations will make all the difference. This makes a difference to their lives as you never know who may be fighting a hard battle inside. The first battle is to ask for help.
