Story
I am taking part in a 14mile walk across Hadrian’s Wall on the 8th of June and aiming to raise funds for CERU (Central England Rehabilitation Unit).
The teams at CERU care for people who have an acquired brain injury, stroke, or tumours. There are many possible causes for acquired brain injuries and the some of the most common at CERU are road traffic accidents, sports injuries, and falls. The average length of stay for patients at CERU is 124 days, with patients sometimes being as young as 16.
CERU is a centre nationally recognised for its excellent record of rehabilitation for patients. I am raising funds that will go towards enhancing the facilities at CERU to make the stay of the patients and relatives as comfortable as possible at a difficult time. The CERU Charitable fund raises money towards making the environment more pleasant and homely, as well as some larger pieces of rehabilitation equipment not funded by the NHS.
Thank you for taking the time to read my fundraising page and if you can give any donations and support, it will be greatly appreciated. Or if you wish to join the charity walk you can visit https://swftcharity.co.uk/get-involved/hadrians-wall-walk-2024 and fundraise for any ward or department for South Warwickshire Foundation Trust.
Thank you!
