2024 sees the 15th anniversary of the IED explosion in Afghanistan that killed 2 servicemen and critically wounded Joe. The months and years that followed were made easier through the support of SSAFA. Whether that was giving me a place to stay so I could be close to Joe in both Selly Oak and Headley Court through the amazing Norton House projects, or the funding for the specialist equipment Joe needed when he came home. Through Norton House I met some truly inspirational families, all supported with unwavering care by the team who worked there (with a very special mention to the late, great Michael Turner).

I want to say thank you to SSAFA and help them continue to provide amazing support to serving and veteran personnel.

Soooo…. Arwel and I are donning our walking boots and on 11th May begin the first of the 96 miles along the West Highland Way in Scotland! As a couple of not far off 60 year olds, we’re hoping our knees hold out, the blisters will be minimal and the rain stays away! We’re going to walk the route over 6 days and any support you can give with helping us reach our fundraising target, and give something back to SSAfA, we will be hugely grateful for.
