Story

Message from Chelsy - In January, I took on the challenge of running a half marathon, despite having no prior experience. My goal was just to complete the Manchester Half Marathon. However following some difficult news at the start of third year in dental school, I wanted this event to serve a greater purpose. I have decided to raise funds for a charity dear to Ethan’s family, honoring his memory and celebrating the remarkable person he was.

Staff and Students of Liverpool's School of Dentistry are aiming to raise money for JackTheLad, in memory of Ethan Trickett.

Ethan was a Dental student entering the third year of his degree. He passed away whilst on holiday in Spain.

In an effort to show our respects, we will be teaming up with LUDSS in order to support the charity of Ethan's family's choice; #JackThe Lad.

#JackTheLad campaigns for Safer Holidays Abroad for the UK’s young people. They are a partner in the UK Government’s TravelAware initiative, working to assist in awareness of risk and accident prevention. If the worst happens, repatriation costs are often not covered by insurance, so #JackTheLad emotionally and financially supports bereaved families.

Our thoughts are with Ethan’s family and friends at this sad time.
