Story
Alice’s Arc was inspired by Alice's journey with cancer. She was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma at age 3 in March 2015. She had 20 months of chemotherapy at GOSH, UK and proton radiation in the US. Alice spent a year cancer free but it returned in February 2018. She underwent 6 months of chemotherapy and a procedure known as AMORE in Amsterdam involving surgery and brachytherapy. Alice spent another year clear before tumours were found in her abdomen and pelvis in July 2019. There were no options left. Alice died, aged 7, in October 2019.
Cara and I have daughters who are at school with Alice’s little sister Rosie and we are constantly in awe of how strong her family are, and how hard her amazing mum Sara works to fundraise to further advances in diagnosis and treatment for children affected by Rhabdomyosarcoma. She is a brilliant mum and Alice would be so proud of her. We wanted to do what we could to help support this amazing cause and hope that the money we raise will help fundraise advances in diagnosis and treatment for kids like Alice.
In October we will run 21km in the Royal Parks half marathon for Alice and her family. Please dig deep and support us and this amazing cause.
Lots of love Charlotte and Cara xx
