Story
3 years ago at the age of 29 josh had a blood test to see if he was anemic. He found out the devastating news that he had an autoimmune condition which caused IgA nethropathy which is a type of kidney disease. The news was a huge shock for us all as a family but he was lucky it was found so early and able to manage his kidney disease as much as possible. There is no cure for the condition and currently no medication to treat it directly - although there is a trial for a new drug just starting which josh is participating in. Hopefully if this drug is successful it will reduce the likelihood of him needing dialysis or a transplant 🤞🏽
Next April I am running the London landmarks half marathon for Kidney Care UK. They are a charity who offers support to those diagnosed with the condition and their family’s and we have personally used their services. Any donations to this amazing cause are appreciated and I am so grateful for any donation no matter how big or small ❤️
Every step I take and every penny I raise will be helping Kidney Care UK be there for people affected by kidney disease. Currently, over 3.5 million people are diagnosed with kidney disease with 68,000 of these in kidney failure and 30,000 receiving dialysis treatment.
Please support me and them to make sure no one faces kidney disease alone.
