I am running the London Marathon For Mind Charity on Sunday 27th April this year in memory of my work colleague/friend Ian Rickett who tragically took his own life in May 2024. A day does not go by when I do not think of Ian, and what I could have done to prevent him taking this decision and therefore I wanted to raise awareness and money for Mind who are a charity that are incredibly close to Ian's family's hearts and are there to help to give people hope, and if I can help do that for just one person then that will help drive me forward both on Sunday April 27th but also in life.

Ian's Aunt Barbara has these words to say 'Ian worked at QMUL university gym as a Senior Fitness Coach, and he was about to embark on his own business venture in fitness and wellbeing, he was so looking forward to the next stage of his life. A much loved nephew, cousin, friend, colleague and mentor, Ian always did the right thing, until, without warning or anyone being aware anything was wrong, he took his own life in May 2024. Sadly, we may never know what triggered him that day. Check on loved ones, friends, neighbours and colleagues even if they seem ok.'
