Story
My name is Charlotte, and I have spent my life wanting to help animals! From volunteering with Riding for the Disabled Association from a young age, and now working at WWF UK; I believe I am incredibly passionate about animal welfare!
So, I have decided to 'Brave the Chill 2024' in aid of WWF! I first heard about this through my work, and thought it would be a great opportunity to further contribute towards the WWF mission. My friends and family know me as a hater of the cold, (and cold water specifically!), so this will be a great challenge for me!
The funds raised through this challenge will go directly to WWF UK, and be used to help WWF’s work around the world to help protect our amazing planet! This includes protecting forests, oceans and species around the world for everyone to enjoy! Through my work, it has been made very clear how essential such services are to our planet! Your donations can help people and nature to thrive in harmony!
So, in aid of this amazing cause I have decided to do an Open Cold Water Swim on Sunday the 22nd of December! I will be doing an 800 meter swim at Longside Lake Watersports at Thorpe, at 8am!
I will be doing multiple practice dips in cold water across the upcoming months (to avoid too much of a shock!). This will be in my local river, horse water troughs and cold showers!
WWF is at the heart of global efforts to address the world’s most important environmental challenges: safeguarding the natural world, tackling climate change and enabling people to use only their fair share of natural resources. Together we can build a future where people and nature thrive.
Your support to this incredible charity, and its essential work is very much appreciated! Find out more about the challenge by visiting https://www.wwf.org.uk/events/brave-the-chill
