Protecting the rights of New York's most vulnerable women has never been more urgent.

That is why I'm proud to continue to support the Her Justice in the Shift the Power Campaign in 2023. For several years, the Shift the Power Campaign has been a key fundraiser for Her Justice, continuing its legacy of bringing decades of expertise to create a more fair and functional civil justice system for women in New York City – so they can build safer, stronger futures for themselves and their families.

For 30 years, Her Justice has advocated alongside women living in poverty. Their clients – 90% of whom are women of color, 80% of whom are survivors of intimate partner violence and 70% of whom are mothers – must navigate the civil justice system to access basic rights. Her Justice stands with them as they seek safety, stability, and self-sufficiency through New York’s civil justice system.
