When we moved to Brighton in 2018 I started walking to explore my new surroundings and found it to be a way to keep fit that I actually enjoy and is also good for my mental well-being.
Having finally retired from all paid work at the end of March I have been walking even more with very noticeable benefits to my health and happiness.
Tackling the 190 mile Coast to Coast Walk for Mind is very important to me. Mental health was a major part of my work as a GP and illness has not spared our family, including me with post-traumatic stress disorder disrupting my wellbeing on a couple of occasions in the past.
