Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my individual page for Becca, and my marathon fundraiser for Meningitis Now.
In November, one of my closest friends, Becca, passed away quite suddenly, having been treated for Meningitis. It was devastatingly unexpected news, and was a huge shock to her family and close friends, of which there were so many.
Meningitis affects 22 people EVERY DAY. The Meningitis Now strategy outlines their commitment to investing in lifesaving research, improving awareness of vaccines and influencing policy-makers to improve early diagnosis and treatment of meningitis. It also looks at how they will improve meningitis awareness and focus on promoting their support services more widely, directly supporting those affected by meningitis.
I was due to run a marathon in Rome in March anyway, alongside my best friend, Brad Gabriel. After both picking up injuries which put things in doubt, we finally committed to it, and so we both thought this would be a great opportunity to raise funds for an amazing cause and in memory of an incredibly person. As such, we are putting it out to both of our networks of family, friends, work colleagues and more.
